To Tea or Not To Tea?

34
That is the question.  And the answer, of course, is "To Tea!!!"

I don't drink tea by the cup, I drink it by the pot.
C.S. Lewis said, "You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me."
C.S. Lewis was a wise man.

When you work from home, you don't have administration mandated, scheduled breaks.  In fact, you rarely get breaks at all.  Most often, my breaks are working breaks.  I will work on lesson plans, review books, do some research or work on some other necessary project during my "down time."  Tea is the ingredient that keeps my working breaks from feeling like work.  I pour myself a cup of tea, pull out my work and have a 10 minute breather.  By the time I see the bottom of my cup, I feel more ready to tackle the demands and interruptions that encompass my day.

I have spawned a brood of tea drinkers.  Not intentionally.  But how can children watch their Mama reverently sipping her brew and not wonder what the attraction is.  Now it is a part of nearly every school day.  At about 10:30 or 11:00, often during a difficult class, we have tea.  Usually the kids have tea and scones, or tea and truffles, or tea and anything.  Then the sun starts shining, the birds start singing and an orchestra starts playing victorious music in the back-round.  Okay, not really.  But it does seem to help everyone's attitude.

The next picture might describe the place tea holds in our hearts:

Do you think we have a problem?

Because I drink so much, I try to keep it healthy.  I mostly drink Rooibos Tea which has about as many antioxidants at green tea, but has no caffeine.  It has a very smooth taste with no afterbite.  Rooibos is fantastic with a little bit of honey.  (I don't compromise here.  Stevia just isn't the same.  And nobody messes with the flavor of my tea.)

I buy most of my tea from Adagio.  I admit it.  I'm a tea snob, and what they have in the grocery store is...  eh.  And it's in tea bags.  I want glorious and I want loose leaf.  Adagio has lots of teas in tons of flavors, both loose and in bags.  They have a rating system so you can try new ones with a little more confidence.  And the more tea you buy, the more points you earn.  Those points can be redeemed for more tea.  And sometimes they surprise you with a free sample in your cart based on the teas you seem to like.  What could be better?  Well, owning the company would be better.  But I will settle for personally keeping them in business.  They support my habit.

Some of our favorite flavors are Rooibos Peach, Rooibos Apricot, and Honeybush Hazelnut.  I also really like the Rooibos Earl Grey and the kidlets really like Green Rooibos Bonita.  I recently served Rooibos Apricot to some of May-May's friends.  They loved it.  It is definitely a good one to start your habit with.

And just in case your wondering, I am drinking Rooibos Peach right now.  I blog better with a cup of tea next to the keyboard.  You should try it.

Have a great day!

Angela
