We are all praying for the victims of the Moore, OK tornado. Our hearts are with them. But sometimes you want to do more than just watch from afar, pray and hurt for them.
Our church has decided that the best way we can help is to send our support to a more local church with a reputation for getting right in the middle of these disasters with real, practical help. They brought in semi-truck loads of supplies when the tornado hit Joplin, MO. They sent in work teams. They organized their database of ministries to make sure the most effective help was given. Now they are doing the same for Moore, OK. Both my husband and I attended this church when we were in Bible School, and still support them. They are doing a fabulous work.
We are throwing our support behind them, and encourage you to do the same if you are looking for a place to give toward the tornado victims. There are currently three ways to help: donate supplies, donate funds (there are various ways, including text), and volunteering. You can find more information at Rhema Bible Church.
