Cleopatra Facial Beauty Drops

34

I call these little drops of wonder "Cleopatra Facial Beauty Drops" because they are luxurious enough for a queen like Cleopatra.  Cleopatra was known her beauty and for sparing no expense when it came to her beauty routine.  She is said to have done things like:

* Made her blush with clay and crushed beetles -- because there's nothing quite like the shimmer of dead bugs.
* Made her eyeliner with lead-based kohl -- you know, so she could die young and not be troubled with silly things like aging.
* Made facial masks with donkey's milk and crocodile dung -- perhaps it smelled so bad that no one could get close enough to see if it really worked.
*Spent hours bathing in milk and rose petals -- Okay, I might go for that one, as long as the milk didn't curdle.
* Dissolved a pearl in vinegar and drank it -- but that was to win a bet, not to improve her looks...

Even with her...er...strange... ideas about how to achieve beauty, she was renowned for her looks.  And these little drops will help you achieve your best looks, too, without any of the weird or dangerous ingredients Cleopatra used.

These drops are meant to be used with my Miracle Skin Renewing Oil, but you could still use either one by itself.  Some of the essential oils I used in this recipe are pretty expensive.  It doesn't take a lot of each essential oil to make this, though, and the drops last forever, so the price evens out over time.  Even buying expensive essential oils ends up being way cheaper than buying some of the store bought skin care lines.  And it is so much better for your skin and your health!!  The best prices I've found were at Edens Garden and Mountain Rose Herbs.  Beeyoutiful also carries some of these essential oils for decent prices.

(Special Note:  I am an affiliate with Mountain Rose Herbs and Beeyoutiful because I buy from them regularly and think they are amazing.  However, I am too lazy/tired/rushed to look up my affiliate codes to provide the proper links.  If you want to support this blog, I will be very, very grateful.  All you need to do is click their stores from the store links on my sidebar and then browse/buy as usual.  Your price won't change, but they will give me some small change for the referral.  How do I use all this money?  Well, I actually don't get enough to do anything, but I hope to eventually offset the costs of running this blog.  One can dream...)

Cleopatra Facial Beauty Drops

15 drops Chamomile Essential Oil
25 drops Rose Essential Oil
15 drops Cypress Essential Oil
20 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
20 drops Helichrysum Essential Oil (also known as Immortelle EO)
30 drops Lavender Essential Oil
10 drops Carrot Essential Oil
1/2 tbsp Tamaru Oil
1 tbsp Jojoba Oil
1 tbsp Grapeseed Oil

Just mix it all together and put it in a dark essential oil bottle.  (You can buy them at Mountain Rose Herbs or just wash out and save your empty essential oil bottles.)  All done.  The hardest part is waiting for the thicker oils to drip out enough drops.  They're slower than Heinz ketchup.  Play some soothing music and do some deep breathing if it frustrates you.  It smells wonderful while you wait, which is more than I can say for ketchup.

To use these drops:  I use these after my Miracle Skin Renewing Oil routine, but you can use them alone, too.  Just put 2-3 drops in your hands and gently spread on your face and neck.  More is not better.  These drops aren't exactly a moisturizer (although the carrier oils are moisturizing, nourishing and healing).  These drops are more like a nourishing treatment.  Just a little dap will do ya'.

Have a fabulous day!

Angela
