I am often asked how I have time to make my own products on top of all the other things I do. One reason is that I don't watch a lot of TV. When I do watch, it is usually a documentary that I watch on my computer from www.pbs.org. We will also occasionally watch educational DVDs as part of our homeschool. I don't mindlessly channel surf, though. When I sit down to watch something, I do it on purpose, for a purpose. Even if I watch a movie, which isn't very often and is always very clean, I do it on purpose.
According to the A.C. Nielsen Co., the average American watches more than 4 hours of TV each day. That is 2 months of nonstop TV per year! In a short 65 year life, the average American will have spent 9 years watching television. What could you do with 9 extra years of free time?
I'll tell you what I do with my extra 9 years. I make stuff. I hug my kids. I fellowship with my Master. I think. I live life on my terms, not Prime Time's terms. That's what I do. What will you do?
